About Me

I’m a writer, cartoonist, and translator based in New York.

You can find my poetry in the New England Review, Image, Bennington Review, and elsewhere. I hold an MFA in creative writing from the University of Iowa, where I have taught English and writing.

My cartoons and comics appear in the New Yorker, Narrative, Air Mail, Reader’s Digest, Alta, as a weekly feature in the Sunday Long Read, and as part of an exhibition at the Jewish Museum of Maryland. My graphic narrative has been nominated for the Best of the Net anthology.

I translate from Dutch. My translation of Judith Herzberg’s chapbook Landscape was published by Circumference Books (2022). I was a finalist for the Peirene Stevns Translation Prize 2024. I hold an MFA in literary translation from the University of Iowa, where I hosted the program’s podcast, Translators Note.

I was a Fulbright Fellow in Germany for the 2014-2015 year, a New Jewish Culture Fellow for the 2020-2021 cycle, and I am currently a PJ Libraries Visual Storyteller Fellow. I have also worked as a linguist at Khan Academy, Google, and elsewhere.
