About Me

I’m a writer, cartoonist, and translator based in Iowa City.

You can find my poetry in the New England Review, Image, Bennington Review, and elsewhere. I hold an MFA in creative writing from the University of Iowa, where I have taught English and writing.

My cartoons and comics appear in the New Yorker, Narrative, Air Mail, Alta, as a weekly feature in the Sunday Long Read, and as part of an exhibition at the Jewish Museum of Maryland.

I translate from Dutch. My translation of Judith Herzberg’s chapbook Landscape was published by Circumference Books (2022). I was a finalist for the Peirene Stevns Translation Prize 2024. I am currently pursuing an MFA in literary translation at the University of Iowa, where I host the program’s podcast, Translators Note.

I was a Fulbright Fellow in Germany for the 2014-2015 year, a New Jewish Culture Fellow for the 2020-2021 cycle, and I am currently a PJ Libraries Visual Storyteller Fellow. I have also worked as a linguist at Khan Academy, Google, and elsewhere.
