A little bit about me
I’m a cartoonist, writer, and teacher. After a career in tech leading teams of content creators and translators, I went to the Iowa Writers’ Workshop to be trained as a poet. My writing can be found in magazines like the Baffler, and my cartoons regularly appear in the New Yorker. I have been teaching creative workshops for almost ten years.
What makes me happier than anything is helping other people discover their latent creativity. Nobody wakes up in the morning with a script of everything they’ll say that day—we are constantly improvising, inventing, and creating. Teams that can recognize and harness that energy have more fun and get more done. If you lead a team and are looking for programming for an on-site, off-site, or retreat, I will work with you to create custom programming to meet your vision.
Spark Creativity
I offer two basic workshop templates: Visual Stories and Wordplay. In the former, participants learn how to devise and draw New-Yorker-style cartoons. In the latter, we move through a series of fun and collaborative writing exercises. Both flows are designed to spark creativity with any group, regardless of prior experience, and both can be customized for your organization.
Communicate Better
When I led a global team of translators, I realized that what unites everyone is humor, and any given group of people has its own unique humor fingerprint. Locating and developing that shared joy takes effort—but ultimately it pays off. These workshops are a fun way way to cultivate that shared sense of creativity in the workplace.

Pricing
$200 booking fee to reserve a time slot of up to two hours
$60 per participant
Pricing includes relevant supplies, customized workshop plan, etc.
All attendees get access to my personal email for follow-ups and feedback
Sliding-scale prices are available for schools, non-profits, and big groups
